To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood – and He has made us to be a kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Rev 1:5c-6
Most Christians would say they know that God loves them. This is the foundation of Christianity. However, our understanding of the depth of God’s love for us is central to our ability to love God and live wholeheartedly for Him. The Word clearly tells us how much God the Father loves Jesus the Son, but do you realize that Jesus feels this same intensity of love for you?
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in my Love. John 15:9
This statement reveals our true worth. We are not worthy because of what we do or what we look like. We are not unworthy because of our sin. God places extraordinary value on us because of what Jesus did for us! Jesus loved us so much that He died for us. Now we can love Him because He loved us. (1 John 4:19) Because of Jesus’ love for us, we are filled with the Holy Spirit and given an anointed ability to love God in return. We can touch the heart of the Father just like Jesus does. This is the priestly anointing that Jesus speaks of when He says we are “priests to God the Father.” He also says that we are kings with authority under the Father and we will rule with Him in His Kingdom.
Jesus, the Christ, received the double portion anointing as the Firstborn of all creation. He allows us to partake of that anointing so our life can profit. Receiving His love is the key to operating in this anointing. How desperately we need greater revelation of Him who loves us!
